Many people wish to go for quick effective methods, out of which lubriderm is the most in talks.

People always doubt the fact

Is lubriderm non comedogenic?

Yes, lubriderm is non comedogenic. It does not block the pores of the skin or the hair follicle embedded in the skin, rather helps in removing them.

What is the meaning of comedogenic and non-comedogenic?

Comedogenic substances are those which can cause blackheads by clogging the pores.

These substances block the air passages of the hair follicles present on the skin and prevent proper aeration.

The skin thus gets devoid of proper oxygen for respiration and also suffers from dehydration.

It catches dirt and oil from the surroundings which settle on the skin to cause slightly visible black-coloured patches called blackheads. Blackheads are a mild form of acne on the skin which can also appear on the neck or the back.

For example, oleyl alcohol, capric acid, stearic acid etc.

Non-Comedogenic substances are those which do not cause any damage or blockage to skin.

They are soft and gentle to the skin when applied. Instead, most of the comedogenic substances help to get rid of blackheads and clogged pores.

For example, lubriderm, resorcinol, benzoyl peroxide etc.

What is Lubriderm?

Lubriderm falls under the category of emollients. And as the word says “lubriderm”, here ‘lubri’ is derived from lubrication and ‘derm’ means related to the skin.

So, it helps in the lubrication of the skin. It makes the skin moist and soft and keeps it hydrated. They are thus a solution to dry skin by maintaining a proper channel for aeration and hydration in the skin.

Why is lubriderm non-comedogenic?

Lubriderm is made using a fast absorbing and non greasy formula which does not let the excessive oil or sweat to settle on the skin.

This does not let oily dirt to get trapped in the hair follicle.

Lubriderm acts by forming a layer of oil on the skin which makes the skin impermeable to humidity or dirt around. After forming this layer, it traps the water in the skin to increase its hydration and helps in activating the channels for the passage of air and water present in the skin.

When the skin is hydrated more, it naturally removes the dead cells present as in the case of blackheads. Lubriderm helps to avoid any kind of blockage in the first place itself.

As the pores are not blocked, no dirt or oil would be trapped, no air channels would be blocked, the skin would not be dehyrdated and blackheads would not appear.

This makes the skin smooth, soft and hydrated.

This way, lubriderm is non-comedogenic which does not cause blackheads but help in their removal.

How to apply lubriderm to get rid of blackheads?

Lubriderm is basically a moisturizer used to unclog the pores. It makes its own layer on the skin and does not let any dirt, sweat or oil to sit on the skin or get trapped. Slightly damp the region in which you notice Blackheads.

Take a small amount of lubriderm on your palm. Gently rub it on the affected area using your fingertips. Lubriderm appears to work the best when the skin is slightly damp or moist.

Carefully read the instructions given on the label at the back of the package. Remember to apply it only in the area where blackheads are present and nowhere else. Do not apply it if you have deep wounds in the area of blackheads.

Stop its use if you feel that the emollient is over whitening your skin or the skin appears whitish grey and contact a dermatologist.

Keep it in a dark bottle or container away from direct light in a cool place away from moisture and heat.

Do not go in direct sunlight after you apply lubriderm as it can make your skin sensitive to ultra violet rays of the sun and cause skin related problems.

The skin products always vary from person to person. Everyone has his/her own skin type and one should choose products according to the same.

It is advised to consult a dermatologist before you apply any chemical based product on your skin.

The same is the case for lubriderm. Go to a doctor and verify if you can use it for blackheads.

If the product would not suit your skin, the doctor can recommend you some other product for treating the same.
