How to remove gel nails with sugar?

You must have read articles regarding how expensive it is to get gel nails and other nails removed from a salon. And while thinking that you must have also thought of the ways to do it at home.

Gel nails are very costly and then getting them removed can also make a big hole in your pocket. So, I am sure you must have heard of a way to remove them with sugar. 

 

So, how to remove gel nails with sugar?

For this DIY Nail remover, you need:

  • 2 Tbsp of Granulated Sugar
  • Bowl
  • Cotton Balls
  • Homemade Cuticle Oil

 

Add 2 tbsp of granulated sugar into a grinder and grind it once for a few seconds.

Then, transfer it to a medium-sized bowl.

Now, dip the cotton ball into the granulated sugar and rub your nails gently without hurting the cuticles and nearby skin.

Make sure to take intervals in between the process.

Continue this process until you see no chips of gel polish on your nails.

After that, apply a few drops of cuticle oil to make your nails and cuticles soft & smoother.

The above homemade remedy works due to sugar’s abrasive property.

 

How to take care of your gel nails?

 

  • Apply cuticle oil daily before going to bed, remember cuticles are very important for your overall nails health.
  • Wear gloves at the time of doing any work which involves excess usage of glossed from your end.
  • Do not indulge in activities that can be bad for your nail’s health.
  • For preventing the nail from any color fading prevent yourself from going into the swimming pool to avoid any contact with chlorine, or thoroughly wipe off your nails just after the session.
  • Avoid filling your nails unnecessarily, this can cause damage to your nails.
  • Use a fork or knife to eat the food and not your hand to avoid any kind of stains on your hand.
  • Avoid using your nails as tools to pull open or pick at anything
  • Take care not to use any products that could contain solvent oils, which causes major damage to the color. These oils can be found in certain suntan oils and insect repellent (Deet)
