Is aveeno products cruelty free?

“Better ingredients. Better skincare: Aveeno” is the brand slogan of Aveeno, they have quality products at affordable prices which is one of the reasons for their popularity. The brand’s main ingredient in most of its products is oats, which is why the brand name is ‘Aveeno’, derived from the scientific name of common oats Avena sativa.

They make sure that their consumers get their best products but are they cruelty-free?

Is Aveeno cruelty free?

Aveeno is not cruelty-free at all. It is kind of obvious because it is owned by Johnson and Johnson, a company that is exclusively not cruelty-free.

This is what is mentioned on their website regarding animal testing:

“The fact is, AVEENO® doesn’t conduct animal testing of our cosmetic products anywhere in the world, except in the rare situation where governments or laws require it. At AVEENO®, we won’t ever compromise on the quality or safety of our products or stop seeking alternatives to animal testing.”

Aveeno pays and allows their products and ingredients to be animal tested when required by law, a lot of companies do use this law as an excuse to get away with it but there are many companies out there that opt not to sell their products in countries where animal testing is required by law.

Are Aveeno’s products vegan?

The answer many cruelty-free websites have given is that they don’t care because the company is not cruelty free so there is no use in trying to find out whether the products they sell are vegan or not. I mean people who want vegan products most definitely won’t use the product of a company that tests on animals.

But if anybody is that curious to know whether the brand is not vegan or not, then here you go, no they are not vegan because most of their product contains beeswax and lanolin.
