Bleaching is one of the most trusted processes for the lightning of hair. Bleaching is a chemical process that removes pigmentation by oxidizing the melanin from your hair.

Bleaching is not a very healthy option for your hair and that is the reason experts advise you to wait for at least a month or three weeks before bleaching your hair again.

It is important to wait as bleaching is an aggressive chemical process. A lot of protein sheds from your hair while bleaching. This makes each of your hair strands weaker.

Things to do before bleaching your hair again

Oiling is said to be a good hydrating treatment for your bleached hair. Make sure you add a few drops of olive oil or coconut oil before getting your hair bleached again. This will help you bring back the strength of your hair.

Reduce the usage of heat on your hair. Bleaching makes your hair dry and bringing your hair in contact with the heat can make them worse. Using straighteners, curlers or other heat products can be used once or twice a week at max.

Bleaching makes your hair dry. Because of the dryness, the hair gets tangled easily and has a chance to break. In that case, it is advised to use a soft or wet brush to avoid hair fall.

Your damaged hair should not be washed with hot water as it can open your cuticles. Use cold water for hair wash.

Alternatives for bleach

No doubt bleach is the simplest and the most effective way to lighten your hair but because it makes your hair unhealthy you can choose an alternative for that.

12 Vitamin C tablets crushed and mixed with your regular shampoo is a great alternative for bleach. It is not only safe but also a cheaper option than bleaching.

You can also go for a baking soda wash after your regular hair wash. Mix 4 tablespoons of water with 2 litres of water and rinse your hair with this mixture after shampoo

Chamomile tea and lemon are also good agents that work well as bleach.
